YMP was founded in 2011, when a bunch of young film students were told that their idea for a regional feature film would not get any backers. So this bunch decided to go ahead and finance and produce the film themselves; which they did with the humble amount of Rs. 9 lakh. They wrote, produced, directed, marketed  and distributed the film themselves which released in theatres and went on to run for 50 days, finally collecting a lifetime collection of around 50 lakhs. 90 percent of the technical crew involved in making the film was below the age of 25 at that time.
